An easy photo wall in three steps

  1. 1 Choose a layout

Ten gallery wall layouts for 6 to 12 frames, from tidy grids to playful salon walls. Pick your frames, the spacing and how you want to print.

  2. 2 Print the template

Print it yourself on A4 sheets and tape them together, or have it printed in one piece at a print shop. A 10 cm check line confirms the scale.

  3. 3 Tape, nail, hang

Tape the template to the wall and level it. Nail through each red cross, tear the paper away and hang your frames. Done.

A designer look, without the designer

For your wedding photos, family portraits, baby’s first year or travel memories: a gallery wall that lines up perfectly, done in an afternoon.

See it before you drill

The preview shows your wall with the frames, colour and spacing you choose, so you know exactly what you will get.

True to size

The template is 1:1: every frame outline and nail point is drawn at full size. A 10 cm check line confirms the print scale before you start.

Made for IKEA frames

Each layout is calculated from the outer size of the frame series you choose. The shopping list includes the article numbers.

A4 or one piece

Print at home on A4 with clear cut and tape lines, or take the print file to a print shop. On a plotter roll the whole wall often fits in one piece.

Great for renters

One nail per frame, in the right place the first time. No test holes to fill when you move out.

Free and private

No account, no email address. Your template is created in your browser and downloaded straight to your device.

Questions

Which frames does it work with?

IKEA LOMVIKEN, RÖDALM, KNOPPÄNG and FISKBO in the metric sizes 21×30, 30×40 and 40×50 cm. US inch sizes are not supported yet.

Do I need to measure anything?

No. The template already shows where every frame and every nail goes. You only decide how high the wall should be and check the level line with a spirit level.

How do I make sure it prints at the right size?

Choose “Actual size” or “Scale 100%” in the print dialogue, not “Fit to page”. Then measure the 10 cm check line: it should be exactly 10.0 cm.

How many sheets will I need?

Every layout shows the exact number of A4 sheets before you download. Rather not cut and tape? Choose “Print shop” and the template is split over as few large sheets as possible, often just one.

Where can I print it in one piece?

At any print shop with a large-format printer (also called a plotter). Ask for the paper size shown in the tool, at actual size. Black and white is fine. You also get a separate A4 PDF with the instructions.

How high should I hang my gallery wall?

A good rule of thumb: the centre of the wall at 145–150 cm from the floor, or the bottom edge 20–25 cm above a sofa or sideboard. The template has a level line and a centre line to help you.

How accurate is the nail position?

The frame outlines use IKEA’s published outer sizes. The point where each frame’s hanger rests on the nail is still a provisional measurement (3 cm below the top edge) while we check it on real frames. Until then, compare it with your own frame before you drill.

Is HangMyGallery part of IKEA?

No. HangMyGallery is an independent site that makes templates for IKEA frames. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by IKEA.
